damron_mitchell.jpgThe Investigation Division of the Boone Police Department arrested a man who is believed to have broken into several area business over the past four weeks.

Investigator Glen Kornhauser said 32-year-old Mitchell Franklin Damron, of Hickory, was arrested yesterday in connection with the July 8 break-in at Denton Insurance on Highway 105 extension, the June 26 break-ins at two businesses at the Shops at Shadowline, the June 19 break-ins at five businesses on Realty Row, and the June 11 break-ins at four businesses at Heritage Court on Highway 105.

Kornhauser said an officer at Carriage Square came upon the break-in at Denton Insurance early yesterday morning.  The officer was unable to arrest Dameron, but was able to identify the man.  Warrants were issued and investigators traveled to Catawba County to arrest Dameron.  Kornhauser said the Longview Police Department helped with the arrest.

Dameron was given a $50,000 bond and will appear in court on August 28.
