With the recent news of Liz Aycock’s resignation from the Boone Town Council, Mayor Loretta Clawson said the council would appoint a new council member next month.
Clawson said Aycock had to resign from the town council because she moved out of town limits.
Clawson said, “Liz has been a very good council member and we will certainly miss her. She’s just a joy to be around. She’s one of the younger ones on the council and we’ll miss that youngness from Liz. We’re certainly going to miss her.”
Clawson explained Aycock’s resignation would be on the council’s agenda this month for information purposes.
Clawson said anyone who is interested in serving on town council can contact a town council member by calling the Town of Boone’s offices at (828) 268-6200.
