Avery Museum acquires Original Tweetsie Depot PDF Print

The Avery County Museum has recently made a very large and very unique acquisition: The Original Tweetsie Depot.

The building is the last surviving East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad structure in the area and will provide a unique opportunity for preserving history. Now all that’s left is to move the structure from Linville to Newland. For that, your help is needed. The museum needs funds to safely transport the Depot. Donations, earmarked for the Depot, can be mailed to the Avery County Historical Museum, P.O.Box 266, Newland, zip code 28657.

The Depot was built in 1917 to service the resort community in Linville.
