Bill inspired by Black case passes House PDF Print

A bill inspired by the scandal surrounding former House speaker Jim Black passed the House by a vote of 107 to 0. 
The bill would require corrupt officials to forfeit their pensions. While the measure would come too late to affect Black or touch pensions an official earns for another government-paid job, it provides that an elected official convicted of misconduct in an official capacity would lose retirement benefits earned for that office.
