A benefit motorcycle ride has been scheduled to raise money for Boone Police officer, Bradley Swift, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
According to Glen Kornhauser and T.J. Proffit, who both work with Swift, the ride is scheduled for Saturday, June 13. Registration will run from 8:00 until 11:00 that morning at Watauga High School.
Registration costs $20 per rider and $25 for a double. Entertainment and food will be provided for all participants.
The tentative route will go through Boone and Blowing Rock on Highway 321 onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and then return down Highway 105 to Watauga High School.
Swift is expected to miss roughly six months of work because of his illness and all proceeds will go to the Swift family to help with medical expenses.
