An update on a story we brought you in May: 10-year-old Tyler, the child who ran into a car in the parking lot of a local restaurant on May 3, faces a long road to full recovery. According to family friend and employer Brandie Miller, Tyler sustained multiple injuries to his head and face- injuries that will require extensive therapy over the next year.In the meantime, Tyler’s medical bills are getting pricey. The community, however, is standing behind Tyler and his family.
A benefit is being conducted to help with the expenses. The benefit will be Saturday at the National Guard Armory in Boone from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Live music, raffles, games, Big Mo’s competition barbeque, hamburgers and hotdogs are just some of the attractions. For more information on how you can help or purchase a raffle ticket, call 828-262-1126.
