General Motors notified 1,100 dealerships nationwide they would terminate their contracts, but Mack Brown Chevrolet and West Jefferson Chevrolet will remain a part of the GM team.
According to a spokesperson at West Jefferson Chevrolet, she hadn’t heard of any changes at the dealership. On a day when a manufacturer the size of GM is notifying dealerships of contract terminations, no news is good news for dealership employees.
Gary Knight, the sales manager at Mack Brown Chevrolet in Boone, said his dealership hasn’t heard anything either. Knight said he believes areas where there are several GM dealers in a city will be mostly affected.
According to CNN, GM will be cutting around 40 percent of their retail network as a way to help balance their budget.
