Detective Bobby Creed with the Boone Police Department said Powell is form Robeson County and the charges stemmed from an incident that was reported on April 30.
Powell was given a $5,000 bond and will appear in court on June 12.

Boone Police officers arrested 46-year-old Michael Thomas Powell on Friday, charging him with one count of sexual battery.
