For teenagers, talking about sex can be quite awkward, but one North Carolina organization is working to make sex education more comfortable.
The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Campaign of North Carolina has created a program called the BirdsNBees Text Line, where teens can anonymously text questions and receive an answer within 24 hours.
According to Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention’s website, the service is free and all questions are welcome. The site says, “No question is too outrageous. We’re here to help.”
The organization says this service is only available in North Carolina. All texts remain anonymous, but they will record the location the text came from for statistical information.
The BirdsNBees Text Line can be reached at (919) 699-0911. More information about the program can be found at http://www.appcnc.org/BirdsNBees.html.
