North Carolina has reached its lowest unemployment rate since April, 2006. The state’s Employment Security Commission reports that the statewide rate dropped to 4.6% in January.

North Carolina has reached its lowest unemployment rate since April, 2006. The state’s Employment Security Commission reports that the statewide rate dropped to 4.6% in January. The state’s rate also matches the United States rate for the first time since July, 2006, when both were at 4.8%. According to the report, North Carolina has gained 99,200 jobs in the last 12 months. County break-downs will be available later this week.
