Boone United Methodist Church raised over $66,000 in pledges at their annual Missions Conference over the weekend, according to Dan Hill who helped organize the event.

Tom Layton, who also helped organize the missions conference, said Boone UMC was been able to raise over $170,000 in their 2007 and 2008 missions conferences.

Missionaries from China, India, Russia, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Sudan were all scheduled to speak at this year’s conference.

While the church was able to raise over $66,000 in pledges over the weekend, Hill said they are taking pledges for a few more weeks.
