Newland Police Department is one of
the proud recipients of the Governor’s Crime Commission grant.
The money will
go towards equipping police cars with cameras, a feature Newland Police Chief
Jason Brown is excited to get.
Brown says the cameras will help protect officers, both physically and legally.
Newland Police Department has seen a lot of positive
changes over the last year: among them the addition of new police cars. Brown
hopes to have the cameras in place sometime in July.
