According to WSOC, Kristy Hammonds and Michael Setzer were charged with contaminating food distributed to the public, which is the same charge that covers people who taint Halloween candy.
Hammonds is a registered sex offender in Alexander County for sexual battery. She also has a criminal history that includes possession of stolen property and breaking into a vending machine.
If convicted, the two could face four months to one year in jail.
