ACADA, Avery Citizens Against Domestic Abuse, has a new addition.

The domestic violence shelter is now the proud home of a playground. Built with funds from private donor, the playground is now ready for use, according to director Susie Smith.

She says the playground provides a safe place for the children to play- with equipment they will really enjoy.

At any given time, between 1 and 8 kids live at the shelter. According to Smith, the playground has capacity for twelve children.

ACADA hosts a 24-hour domestic violence hotline. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, call (828)733-3512.
