Watauga County’s public transportation system, the AppalCart, reported record ridership for the month of March.

According to AppalCart’s Director, Christopher Turner, 111,747 people rode the AppalCart last month, which was up 26 percent from March 2008.

AppalCart also increased service hours and service miles from last March.
