Copper thieves hit the Ferguson Community Center over the weekend.
A person or persons allegedly broke in through the backdoor of the building, deputies say, and apparently had time to remove all the 600-volt wiring from the building. The wire is worth an estimated $25,000. Damage to the ceiling was estimated to be $5,000. A smoke machine valued at $150 was also reported missing. 33-year-old Jerry Ray Bowman and 30-year-old Daniel Scott Hartley were arrested and charged with theft after deputies allegedly found them with a significant amount of copper wire, a breaker box and a smoke machine.
