Watauga County authorities are looking for a Hispanic man and woman who tricked a Boone resident and took his money and jewelry.

According to Sergeant Matt Stevens of the Boone Police Department, around 5:15 yesterday afternoon, the two suspects knocked on the door of a house on Deerfield Road and explained that they were doing utility work in the area.

The female suspect lured the resident outside to discuss utility lines while the male entered the home and stole a large amount of money and jewelry.

The two were driving a newer model white four-door Chevrolet pickup truck with a dump bed.
