The Pioneers marched their way into first place on Tuesday night by knocking off East Burke in nine innings at Watauga-High Field.
Jon Sharpe, who had a no-hitter through 6 and 2/3 innings picked up his second win of the year, and his second win career wise against the Cavaliers. Tuesday night’s win gives WHS a half-game lead on South Caldwell and McDowell for that number one seed. The Pioneers, riding a four-game winning streak, are 7-2 overall; 4-1 in league play.
