Alleged bank thieves drove a getaway vehicle from
Virginia to Ashe County, according to reports.
Grayson National Bank in
Troutdale, Virginia was robbed last week. The suspects, 35-year-old Nicholas
Stallard and 18-year-old Steven Bannister, both of Oklahoma, drove their
getaway vehicle to West Jefferson, police say. Once there, they rented a
vehicle from Ashe County Motors. The red Ford Taurus was traced to West
Jefferson when the suspects were apprehended. The Toyota Camry the suspects had
been driving from the alleged robbery was discovered at Ashe County Motors.
Bannister was apprehended last week in Charlotte when he attempted to catch a
bus back to Oklahoma. Stallard was caught in Independence, Virginia.
