A fight that took both Elkin police officers and
Wilkes County sheriff’s deputies to mediate led to the arrest of a man and a
teenager.
31-year-old Joey Glen Cleary was engaged in a fight with a
14-year-old. Police were unable to determine who caused the scuffle, but the
juvenile had marks on his head, elbow and chest. Cleary had marks on his elbow
and neck, according to reports. Cleary was charged with assault. The minor
faces a similar charge in a juvenile petition.
