Sheriff’s deputies in Wilkes County have arrested a
Thurmond teenager after a disagreement over a puppy.
Jason Richardson of Elkin
told police his 7-year-old son found a puppy in the front yard. Believing the
puppy to be a stray, he granted his son permission to keep the animal. Minutes
later, however, he heard his son screaming in the living room. Richardson
alleged he found 17-year-old Jennifer Kelsey Blevins walking out his front
door, puppy in tow. The teenager claimed the puppy belonged to her, and left
the premises. When questioned by police she admitted opening the front door,
but not to entering the residence. Blevins was served with a misdemeanor
breaking and entering warrant nonetheless.
