Johnson City authorities found a missing 2-year-old girl early Thursday morning.

According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, an Amber Alert was issued for Hannah Jo Hicks Thursday after her mother threatened to kill herself and the child, and then disappeared.

WLOS-TV reported the mother, 35-year-old Valerie Hicks, is currently in the custody of the Johnson City Police Department and Hannah has been safely recovered.

Valerie Hicks reportedly took the child after a domestic fight with her sister around 10:00 Wednesday night and threatened to drive her car off of a cliff, killing herself and her daughter.

WLOS-TV reported Valerie Hicks is nine months pregnant and was possibly intoxicated during the altercation.
