Someone went inside a residence on Elkin Highway and
took $1,500 worth of firearms, Wilkes County deputies say.
There is no sign of
forced entry, but homeowner William Ray Pruitt told deputies the door was
unlocked while he was out Saturday evening. Pruitt returned home to find the
guns missing. All other valuables have been accounted for. The missing weapons
include a 12-gauge single shot shotgun and a 22-250 bolt-action rifle with a
Bushnell scope. While Pruitt has his suspects, deputies are still investigating
the case.
