The state Division of Nonpublic Education has released its 2006-2007 statistics for non-conventional public school statistics. This includes private school students, but not those who are home-schooled. 94,000 students are currently enrolled in the non-conventional public school system, 107 of them in Watauga County. That’s up from last year. Most schools, according to the statistics, are religious-based.
