Escaped Inmate from Wilkes Correctional Center PDF Print

viewpicture.jpgCorrections and law enforcement officers are searching for an inmate who escaped Sunday morning from Wilkes Correctional Center.


Aisling Broadcasting was informed Monday afternoon that the inmate was reported missing between 9:00 and 10:15 a.m.


23-year-old Gregory L. Blevins  is serving a two-year, five-month sentence for several misdemeanor crimes including assault on a female, assault on a law enforcement officer and driving while intoxicated.

Blevins is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 147 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes and has numerous tattoos including a panther and a time clock on his left arm and a cross on the back of his neck.

Blevins apparently climbed over the facility fence on Statesville Road.


Anyone who has seen the inmate or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call Wilkes Correctional Center at (336) 667-4533 or your local law enforcement agency.
