An unidentified construction worker was putting siding on a building as part of the Sugar Mountain Reserve Project #2 this afternoon when he fell approximately 15 feet to the ground.
Banner Elk Fire Department, Linville Central Rescue, and Avery EMS responded to the scene. The man was visibly injured according to Banner Elk firefighter Peter Romanowski. The man was transported via ambulance to Cannon Memorial Hospital. His condition is not known at this time. Details are still emerging about the incident and we will have an update in the morning.
