Bank robber could strike again, police say PDF Print

Police are still seeking a suspect that they believe robbed two Catawba County banks last week.

The suspect has been described to be in his late twenties to early thirties, 5’6” to 5’10”, medium build, with light blond to light brown hair. The newest photographs in police possession show a mustache and goatee, possibly with extra facial hair according to Sergeant Scott Hildebrand. There’s another aspect to the suspect’s unique ensemble, he says.

A "construction barrel orange" long-sleeved tee shirt.

The suspect, who claimed to be armed, never showed a weapon in either robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the scene.

Several people have called in with tips, according to Hildebrand, and several leads are being investigated.

If the suspect is not caught, Hildebrand would not be surprised if he struck again, perhaps in another area of Western North Carolina.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Hickory Police at 828-328-5551.
