Rescuers worked through darkness and chilly air Tuesday night to rescue three ASU students from the Linville Gorge. The freshmen lost their way on a hike through the Burke County side of the gorge.
Rescuers worked through darkness and chilly air Tuesday night to rescue three ASU students from the Linville Gorge. The freshmen lost their way on a hike through the Burke County side of the gorge. They used cell phones to call the police for help. Those cell phone links helped rescuers find the group. The rescue included a 400 foot repel into the gorge in the dark. All three were found to be cold, but were rescued by around 11pm without incident.
