North Carolina Republicans reelected chairwoman Linda Daves of Charlotte as party leader on Saturday.
Daves moved up from vice-chair in December after Ferrel Blount stepped down in November. She, and the rest of the GOP, may have a tough road ahead. Seven legislative seats were lost in November in the General Assembly. Republicans lost a congressional seat and have not won a governor’s race since 1988. Daves says she is up to the challenge.
