Santa’s Toy Box has helped families in need for 22 years by giving gifts to Watauga County children.

Santa’s Toy Box helped over 400 families in 2007 and is looking to improve on that number this year.

In an effort to help bring in more toys, members of your favorite Aisling Broadcasting radio stations will be conducting a daylong broadcast in front of Mast General Store on King Street in Boone starting at 7:00 Friday morning.

Boone Ford Lincoln Mercury will be providing a truck for residents to put their donations in.

Residents are asked to bring new packaged toys to donate to local children.

Gene Swift is spearheading Santa’s Toy Box and said toys and books for children from ages 3-15 are welcome.

Swift said if residents would like to donate toys at another time other than Friday, they are accepting monetary donations year-round and toys will be accepted until December 18t at Southern States Subaru, High Country Press, First Citizen’s Bank, Charter Communications, Ross Chrysler-Plymouth, Watauga Opportunities, the Boone Police Department, High Country Host, and Ferguson Bath Kitchen & Lighting.
