Woodlands: Food fit for a president? Try 3! PDF Print
Written by Lauren Ohnesorge

When three former U.S. Presidents visit North Carolina, it’s only appropriate to feed them barbeque.

That’s what the Billy Graham Evangelical Association did when presidents George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter came to Charlotte for the dedication of the Billy Graham Library. What kind of barbeque? Woodlands’ Barbeque, and owner Gina Triplett could not be more excited. She considers it a great honor. While Triplett was in the kitchen and did not get to meet the presidents, she expects pictures of the men eating the cuisine to put in her restaurant. The Association contacted Triplett because Boone resident Franklin Graham, son of Billy, frequently serves Woodlands at events at Samaritan’s Purse. While she has served Billy Graham before, this was Triplett’s first time feeding a president- much less three.
