According to Watauga County Crimestoppers, on May 27th around 8 p.m., someone shot a yellow Labrador retriever that belonged to residents of New Farm Road off Broadstone Road in Valle Crucis. In an unrelated incident, sometime last month, someone stole a pressure washer from a garage on Mount Zion Road in Deep Gap. Crimestoppers is also seeking information about a Kodak Easy Share digital camera, allegedly stolen from a property on N.C. Highway 184 North on May 29. Lastly, on May 24, police believe a residence on Hardin Road was broken into, resulting in the theft of approximately $100, several DVDs and other personal items.
