16 volunteers from the Watauga County branch of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute are soliciting money for a scholarship program.
The goal is to raise $45,000 by May 31, and the group is just over halfway there. Scholarships go to deserving area sixth graders in the amount of $1,000 each. Called “Dream Scholarships,” the money goes to sixth graders with college potential but without the necessary financial situation.
