The 24-year-old Lenoir man who drowned in Lake Rhodhiss on Sunday afternoon was swimming with his girlfriend and another friend, according to reports.
Jason Nathaniel Blaine drowned in approximately 14 feet of water at Connelly Creek Cove in Granite Falls. He was about 25 feet offshore. Authorities were called to the lake around 4:30. At this point, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office believes Blaine became fatigued while swimming across the cove. The area did not have a “no swimming” designation.
