The first-degree murder trial of suspect Jerry Anderson begins its third week.
Off for Memorial Day, court continues today. Attorneys must agree on three more jurors in the case that is expected to last at least two more weeks. Opening statements may begin as early as this week. Anderson is on trial for the murder of his wife, Emily Anderson, who went missing Dec. 29 of 2005. Judge David S. Cayer decided in January to move the trial from Caldwell to Gaston County because of the publicity surrounding the case.
