Two residents sustained minor injuries in a crash on Poplar Grove Road Wednesday evening around 6:00.

According to the investigating trooper with the N.C. Highway Patrol, the incident occurred because the driver was traveling too fast to make it around a curve on the road.

The driver lost control and the vehicle rolled.

According to authorities, the driver and passenger involved in the single-vehicle incident were transported to the Watauga Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol reported the Boone Fire Department was called to the scene to block traffic on the road so a wrecker could tow the vehicle away.
