Starting June 1, the ASU Turchin Center for the Visual Arts will highlight a local artist whose influence in Boone has been legendary.
Noyes Capehart Long’s “From the Private Diary of Noyes Capehart” will run through September 15 in the Mayer Gallery. Long taught at Appalachian State University for 37 years, according to Turchin director and curator Hank Foreman.
His works have been exhibited in the Brooklyn Museum, the N.C. Museum of Art and the Mint Museum, to name a few. A reception celebrating Long’s exhibit will be held in conjunction with An Appalachian Summer Festival on July 6.
