It’s the season for kittens and puppies.
With so many new additions, how are local humane societies handling the pressure? Very well, according to Avery County Humane Society’s Charlene Calhoun. Most shelters are overrun with animals. Not every shelter in the High Country is overcrowded though. In Avery County, a rare situation exists: there’s plenty of room. Earlier this week there were only four puppies at Avery County Humane Society.
Memorial Day Weekend may be the perfect opportunity to invest in a pet, so check out your local animal shelter.
