With many High Country gas stations still without gas, North Carolina Governor, Mike Easley reassured residents that gas is still on its way.
At the press conference about the state’s acquisition of Grandfather Mountain, Easley was asked about the gas crisis. Easley said that gasoline had arrived in North Carolina, and it was now a matter of getting the gas to the gas stations.
Easley explained that trucks were working around the clock to get gasoline to gas stations across the state. Easley did ask residents not to top off their tanks if they could help it, and to conserve when possible until the gas reaches all the pumps.
Easley said he believes the gas crisis is over, and now it’s just a matter of distributing the gasoline.
