Clawson made the announcement in a press conference in front of the Town’s newest plot of land.
Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee, Betty Bond, went on to explain the building now belongs to the citizens of Boone and it’s up to them what will be done with it.
Bond said, “There are just lots of wonderful ideas and we’ll certainly be soliciting them from the public.”
Clawson said the Town paid $1.25 million for the building and the land. The Town closed on the property last Friday afternoon.
