| New Catawba township gets liquor by the drink |

The Mountain Creek Township, made up of the Sherrills Ford, Terrell and Denver communities in Catawba County approved a measure to sell liquor by the drink this week. Restaurants benefited will include Lineberger’s and Sagebrush. Before this week, brown bagging was the only way liquor could be served at restaurants. Voters hoped the measure could bring national chain restaurants and more commercial development. Â
