AAA Carolinas began a campaign in five counties across the state to bring attention to the dangers of driving while distracted, especially while talking on a cell phone.
The Associated Press reported AAA will be putting graphic posters on gas pumps at over 50 gas stations in Wake, Durham, New Hanover, Pitt, and Watauga counties. AAA is going forward with this campaign in these specific counties because its annual analysis shows they are the most dangerous for crashes and injuries.
According to North Carolina law, it is illegal for drivers younger than 18 to drive while using a cell phone.
