A measure sitting for months in the House rules committee may be up for debate sooner than anticipated. Democrat’s attempts to kill the bill on the House floor were thwarted Tuesday.
The bill would limit marriage to a man and a woman in the constitution. The limitation already exists in state law, leading many democrats to view the measure as irrelevant. More than 60 people in the 120-member House, however, want the measure to go forward.
