Crimestoppers is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for stealing catalytic converters from a local used car dealership.
The incident occurred sometime between July 25th and August 5th at Browns Used Cars. The dealership is located at 5791 U.S. Highway 421 North in Vilas. According to Crimestoppers, the thieves target trucks and SUV’s because of their high ground clearance. The thief can easily crawl under the vehicle to take the converter without using a jack or a lift. Crimestoppers asks the public to report any suspicious activity such as people tampering with vehicles at car dealerships after hours and late at night to the authorities. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 268-6959.
