Earlier this week, two GOP state politicians toured Watauga County to visit with town officials, businesses, emergency services, Watauga High School, ASU, and medical professionals.

Candidate for the North Carolina House, Dan Soucek, and Republican Leader of the N.C. House of Representatives, Paul Stam, discussed local issues within the county.

Soucek said, “It is important to me to build solid relationships with all areas of the community so we can work together to make a real difference in the High Country.”

Soucek is no stranger to the area, as he is employed by the Boone-based ministry, Samaritan’s Purse in international disaster relief and community development.  Soucek is the regional desk officer for the Horn of Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
