Looking for somewhere to take the kids? Ghost Town returns to Maggie Valley this week after its five-year hiatus.
When Ghost Town opened initially in the 1960s, it put Maggie Valley on the map. Since it closed after equipment problems in 2002, local businesses have seen a decline in families visiting the town. At its peak it was the most attended family amusement park in the state. The new owners are hopeful it will attract 200,000 visitors in the first year. After all, it’s only a couple of hours away.
