Jury selection continues today in one of Caldwell County’s most publicized murder trials. Jerry Anderson is charged with the first-degree murder of his wife, Emily Griffith Anderson.

The suspect was indicted in February of 2006 after Emily Anderson’s body was found in the toolbox of her pickup truck. The truck was found in Duncan, South Carolina, but her body was found when the truck was brought back to Caldwell for processing. Detectives say Emily was shot December 29, 2005, the same day her husband reported her missing, at a dairy farm owned and operated by the suspect. The trial is anticipated to last several weeks. Jurors’ beliefs about the death penalty are of particular interest to lawyers, sources say. If convicted, Anderson may be looking at capital punishment.
