A man police say presented stolen and forged checks to a Boone woman as payment for a Playstation 3 is in Boone Police custody.
24-year-old Stephen Eugene Kirby of Piedmont, South Carolina, was arrested in Bedford County Tennessee and transported to Boone. He is charged with one felony count of obtaining property by false pretenses and two felony counts of uttering forged instruments. Kirby was booked under a $5,000 secured bond and faces a June 28 court date.
