You may see Watauga law enforcement officers on the go today- but it’s not what you think.
The Special Olympics torch is making its way to Raleigh, and according to Watauga Coordinator Keron Poteat, at 10 a.m today it’s Watauga’s turn to carry the torch. Runners and spectators are meeting at 10 a.m. today at the Boone Town Council Chambers where Mayor Loretta Clawson will see them off.
The Summer Games will be held June 1, 2, and 3 in Raleigh. Watauga has 32 athletes participating.
