The North Carolina Department of Transportation has proposed a plan for Caldwell County roads that has met little opposition from citizens. The 88-mile project would widen Connelly Springs Road from Norwood Street (U.S. 321-A) to Starcross Road into a four-lane highway. The project would create an interchange for access to and from U.S. 321.
